چکیده

Mussel shell is a type of waste that generated abundantly. However, the presence chemical components such as calcium (CaCO3) in mussel shells has shown its potential filler materials concrete designing. Therefore, this paper presents experimental result for physical and mechanical properties containing 1%, 2%, 3% 4% Shell Powder (MSP) additional material under 2.73% sodium chloride solution. The MSP been cleaned, grinded sieved 75μm sizes order to obtain final product. Compressive strength, split tensile, capillary water absorption were determined. Statistical analysis was performed investigate correlation level significance using IBM SPSS determining optimal mix design modified concrete. performance control specimens are main factor observed study. increment percentages had led reduce on however improved rates. According statistical analysis, it shows low giving significant value compressivestrength very strong coefficient compared specimens, thus indicated minimum more improving performance.

Experimental Studies on Concrete with Bentonite as Mineral Admixture

The present investigation deals with effect of bentonite clay on concrete. The concrete was produced by partial replacement of OPC with mineral admixture bentonite clay in percentages of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. The M20 grade of concrete was designed. The compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength were found for the specimens. The present investigation is to study the e...

Mechanical Properties of Plastic Concrete Containing Bentonite

Plastic concrete consists of aggregates, cement, water and bentonite, mixed at a high water cement ratio, to produce a ductile material. It is used for creating an impermeable barrier (cut-off wall) for containment of contaminated sites or seepage control in highly permeable dam foundations. The effects of water to binder ratio and clay dosage on mechanical properties of plastic concrete were i...

Evaluation of microstructure and mechanical properties of 410NiMo as an overlay layer on low alloy steel

The aim of this study is to reach an increased service life for parts using in sour environment by weld overlaying process. In this investigation, two successive layers of ER410NiMo were clad on low alloy steel substrates. To reduce the likelihood of Hydrogen Induced Cracking (HIC) and producing stable hydrogen traps, Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) was conducted. Microstructural analysis, X-ra...

Furan fatty acid as an anti-inflammatory component from the green-lipped mussel Perna canaliculus.

A lipid extract of Perna canaliculus (New Zealand green-lipped mussel) has reportedly displayed anti-inflammatory effects in animal models and in human controlled studies. However, the anti-inflammatory lipid components have not been investigated in detail due to the instability of the lipid extract, which has made the identification of the distinct active components a formidable task. Consider...
